Finally there appears to be an end in sight. After 9 months of pregnancy the doctor has finally scheduled our induction/c-section for Thursday March 6th, 2008. What a relief to know that at most we have 6 more days to wait. It seams like we have been "almost there" forever so I think we can handle 6 more days.
We gotta show up at the hospital at 6 AM. Wow thats early. They'll get us all registered and in a room, and then Doctor will be there at 7 or 8 AM . She said she'll do an ultrasound at that point to see what direction the kids are facing and determine how to do delivery at that time. However right now they are facing the wrong way which means that we will be having a c-section. The doctor says she is holding out hope, but at this point I'm guessing it will be a c-section.
Maybe sooner, but at least within a week we can officially be called parents.

Another appointment, more waiting
We had another appointment yesterday. And the doctor says the contractions Jamie has been feeling are just more intense Braxton-Hicks. Since they go away when she gets up its not the real thing he says. But since they are intensifying its just one more sign that the end ( or is really th beginning ) is near.
We did find out that Baby B has decided to drop down. All along they name the babies A and B to signify that A is the one that should be born first. So after the last appointment we thought we could have a natural delivery since A was the right way and B was breach. Since B has decided to drop down first it sounds like we are going to have to have a C-Section. The doctor said that if they were born today it would be a c-section, but our normal doctor told us last week that once they drop there isn't much chance of them rotating or switching positions anymore. Oh well we'll see how it goes, and if a c-section is the way to go then we will be just fine with that.
Hopefully not much longer and we can start writing about the joys of having twin infants instead of writing about the wait. That is if the waiting game doesn't drive me nuts before they are born.

Another good visit
We had another ultrasound today. It went very well. Baby B is at 5 lbs 4 ounces. The measurement on Baby A was 5 lbs 9 ounces, but the ultrasonologist ( I think thats what she is called) said that she couldn't get a good view of Baby A and that its likely he is a little smaller, closer to the 5 lbs 4 ounces that Baby B is.
Got some good news today about positions. They have rotated so the first baby is in position for natural child birth. The second is now the wrong way. So the doctor said that we get to make the call if we want to do natural or c-section. I think we are going to give natural a try and see how it goes. Of course since the babies have not dropped down yet there's still a chance that they could rotate again. Hopefully they are able to turn the second one around after the first one is born. That would terrible if the first is natural and the second needs to be c-section. Jamie's doing well, but miserable as I'm sure everyone is for the end of the pregnancy. I don't even want to imagine what it would be like to be recovering from both natural and c-section births at the same time.
The doctor still says that it could be today, or 3 weeks. For the sake of Jamie I hope that it is sooner. Well for now we just keep waiting I guess.

Welcome to our blog
Welcome to our blog. I can't say who will write more me or Jamie, but either way the plan write now is for this to be more about Kevin and Alex than it is about us. Of course who knows what will happen, and maybe we will be just way to busy with new born twins to even write anything.
Being a geek and all, I always thought about setting up all these fancy things like a full scale blog, twitter, and flickr. This seams like the perfect time for it. From everything I keep hearing we are going to be pretty crazy busy with twins, and I have a bad memory to start with, so I'm sure there will be somebody I forget to call and tell about something that happens. Hopefully by posting to this blog as well as keeping up on the pictures and such everybody can keep up with whats going on. Of course I don't intend to replace actual human interaction with freinds and family with all this web stuff, but hopefully it helps us help everybody else know how things go. And hopefully we get some useful comments as this whole parenting this is new and double the norm with twins.
