2 Week Checkup

Today was the 2 week check up for the boys. Not much to report...I guess that's a good thing. Both of the boys are healthy in every aspect. We were concerned a little bit about the fact that Kevin was sleeping in the swing instead of sleeping of in his bassinet. So that was about the only question we had for the doctor. She gave us the whole speech about babies laying on flat hard mattresses. Then said that the only way she could get one of her kids to sleep was in a car seat. So that made us feel a lot better about having him sleeping in the swing.

The doctor did say that although you can't spoil babies this young, it is possible for them to learn. She suggested letting them try to cry themselves to sleep in the bassinet, as a way to learn how to sooth themselves. So I think we will give it a try and see how that goes.

Both boys are growing good. They are both now 20 inches long. Surprisingly Alex has the bigger head now, even though its only by .3 cm. Alex is also catching up to Kevin in weight. Alex is 7 pounds 3 ounces, and Alex is 7 pounds and 14 ounces. They are in the 8th & 19th percentile respectively. I was kinda surprised to see that 11 ouces makes that big of a difference in the percentile. Of course like the doctor said, twins are expected to be low on the percentile like they are and that the important thing is that both are growing well.
