Well things have gotten much better recently with the spit up. Over the last couple of days both of the boys were very good when it comes to spitting up. The first few days it seamed like they were spitting up all of the time. The first couple of nights we had to change out the pads and sheets in the bassinets because they were so soaked through with spit up. The last 2 nights they did not spit up at all. We are starting to think that the problem was just that their stomaches were not quite ready when they were born. I'm sure I've jinxed it now, but I think we are over the days of big spit ups.
Of course Kevin still refuses to sleep in his bassinet. After the first feeding when going to bed last night he was really crabby. I ended up taking him in the living room and sleeping with him on the recliner until the next feeding. Then after the second feeding the only way we could get him to sleep was to move the swing into our bedroom and let him swing instead of laying in the bassinet.
And daddy was very sassy last night. Alex started to get real whinny last at about 5:30 this morning and we had just feed them a little after 4AM. So I walked with him for a while and then ended up sitting up on the chair and that was the only way he would sleep. If I tried to recline then he would start crying. Then at 8AM it was time for their next feeding. So I went to change Alex's diaper. It turned out that he had filled his pants pretty good. And it was starting to get crusty on his leg. I felt so bad because I'm sure that was why he woke up crying at 5:30...not that he was fussy, but rather that he needed to be changed. You would think I would have learned by now to check that when they wake up crying in the middle of the night...I'll try to remember that next time.
