Getting Better Already

The first cereal feeding was a mess...The second one was much better, at least for Alex.

First off, thanks for this idea Grandma JoJo. This morning we decided to start out by giving the boys about half of their bottle first before giving them the cereal. Then after the cereal giving them the bottles again to finish topping off their bellies.

Kevin didn't necessarily take to this idea so well. He didn't do any worse than yesterday's feeding, but he really wasn't much better. Jamie feed him this time, and he still cried almost the whole time that he was eating the cereal. Then he did not want to eat the bottle at all after the cereal. But he did eat enough cereal and formula that we just called him done.

Alex on the other hand really got into eating the cereal this morning. It was like I couldn't shove it in his mouth fast enough. Until we got towards the end of the bowl he never cried the whole time. Of course I did make quite the mess out of him. I had to wash his face and hands, as expected, but I also had to wash his clothes cause they were all crusty from the cereal. It was so cute how he learned so quickly that he needs to open his mouth as I put the spoon up to it. Hopefully he continues to eat this good now.

Instead of sitting in front of him, like Jamie did yesterday, I sat along side of him. And I think we know from now on that we need to sit alongside of the boys when we are feeding them instead of in front of them. If I would have sat in front of him them I would have ended up with cereal all over me just like Jamie did.
